Necking Giraffes and Mount Kili. as photographed by Guarded Secrets
This photograph was taken near Kimana in Kenya, close to the Maasai boma (village) where I was living. The Giraffes are doin something called 'necking'. Necking is sort of like fighting, according to one of our lecturers, the two necking were males and there was a female somewhere behind the trees. It's not very clear in this photograph. Unfortunately I couldn't take my Nikon out there with me so I had to make do with disposable camera and my sisters point and shoot digital which automatically chooses the 'best' setting (in my opinion it does this badly!). We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
